Knysna's fame as the country's favourite getaway holiday town is re-enforced
when the town literally is painted 'pink'. This Five-day festival
is where the town folk are encouraged to be celebrate the marvels of our
new constitution. Reason enough to let your hair down, and share
the joy of our mulit-cultural society that`s now the marvel of the world.
The first ever Mardi Gras to be held on the African Continent and it all
happened right here in 2001. Five days of frolicking from dawn to dusk…….
So come on down and strut your stuff - whether its glitz or glam or feathers
and veldskoens, downright naughty or upmarket trendy - dress up or dress
down - you choose; 22 -26 May 2002.
Do not miss the Mardi Gras, cumulating in an outrageous street parade…..
